Uno

"Uno"
30" x 40"
Acrylic on wrapped canvas
This was my first attempt at making a fractal. It was an ambitious undertaking to cover a huge canvas without having established a technique or understanding the elements I wanted to incorporate. All the other paintings of swirling stuff were made after this one.

Joyful, Joyful

"Joyful, Joyful"
8" x 8"
Acrylic on canvas panel
I painted with a joyful heart today. I spent two days with a very ill child and finally made him laugh and hug me.  The little guy loves the color yellow, so I made certain to include that sunshine color in this joyful composition.

It's another palette knife piece.  I'm enjoying the looseness of the application of paint in this technique.  I'll do a few more before moving on to some large roses that are auditioning like starlets.

Peg's Garden Fence

"Peg's Garden Fence"
18" x 24"
Acrylic on canvas
In the front garden up by the road at Peg's you can tell it's June by the colors: pink, white and blue. Roses, snowballs and larkspur dominate one corner of her parcel of paradise.

Golden Rose

"Golden Rose"
8" x 8"
Oil on hardboard
This golden rose was a quick study for a larger painting, but I found I really don't like to paint yellow roses.

Fairy Tails

"Fairy Tails"
20" x 20"
Acrylic on wrapped canvas
And to my left are the Fairy Tails, next to Dragon Tails,  Who knew? Right? Did you think this is what they'd look like!

While I catch up on house portraits galore, I hope you enjoy a few more of my swirling fantasy paintings.

Dragon Tails

"Dragon Tails"
18" x 18"
Acrylic on wrapped canvas

There's a place not too far from here where the sky looks like cotton candy, and clouds resemble dragon tails. If I close my eyes it's right over ... there. Try it. See if you agree.

This painting is sold, but I can recreate a companion piece in your own cotton candy colors if you'd like.

Metallica

"Metallica"
6" x 18"
Acrylic on wrapped canvas
In this melodic place where iridescent orbs twist and twirl, spiral and swirl as a matter of course, the vibrations between the balls create a dulcet, sweet music.

I used metallic paint to make this image, and it rocks! No photo can capture the effect.
