"Beck's Farmland" 8" x 8" Acrylic on canvas panel |
This is a palette knife piece, one of two that I painted in the presence of hummingbirds, crows and hawks. It was an idyllic meditative day in Hebron, Illinois.

Beautiful! I can't even slice a tomato effectively with a knife. I don't know how you do it!
ReplyDeleteBeing self-taught has it's merits. I was given a set of palette knives and decided to try to use them with my leftover mural-painting acrylics. I don't seem to be running out of paint, so I'll continue to play with the tools and medium until it's gone. I'm sincere. I just make it up as I go. I don't know the rules of knifing, or painting with brushes either. I was not trained. I just thought, "How hard can THAT be?" If I want it to look like ...that, I'll try ...this. I cook the same way, and I'm good at it.
DeleteMaking it up as you go might work in visual art, but not when it comes to the Queen's English. Not "it's merits," my dear -- "its merits."
DeleteSigh... I will try to change it. I am so embarrassed. Thank you, and your Queen for keeping tabs on me.
DeleteI cannot change it unless I delete the entire comment and rewrite it. Perhaps public humiliation will cure me of not checking my work. I DO know the difference between its and it's, I'll have you know. It was a slip of an overzealous finger.
