Sunday morning was sunny, warm, clear and the only day in June my friends were free to paint en plein air with me. Ed and I dropped off my dog at the groomer on the way and met Alan in the parking lot of the forest preserve. Met him — for the first time! Just as I had met Ed for the first time last month when we painted together. We three chose subject matter near one another and painted a total of five paintings in about three hours. Storms darkened the afternoon skies, but by then we were each back to the normalcy of our own lives.
